Synopsis[]
A little boy is on his last ride of the holiday, but it turns out to be a much more frightening ride than he had bargained for, when he finds he has been kidnapped by Texas Pete. SuperTed comes to the rescue once again.
Plot[]
It is the end of the summer holidays. A local fun fair is almost deserted. A boy makes his way towards the big dipper to have his final ride of the holiday. He splashes Bulk and Skeleton on his travels, but is then stopped by Texas Pete who declares no one can handle a lasso quick like him before throwing it into the air and cheering loudly.
In the Space Station, Spotty is feeling unwell. SuperTed plans to take his temperature but becomes distracted by the monitor light flashing and puts the earth one in Spotty's mouth instead of the spotty one. A lady tells SuperTed her son has not returned from the fair. SuperTed guesses the boy has been kidnapped. He says his secret magic word, and after reminding Spotty to stay in bed, flies off to the rescue.
Tex and his cronies are looking for somewhere to hide the boy and hold him for ransom. Bulk thinks Tex means "handsome" and Skeleton states he is, whilst admiring himself in a mirror. A frustrated Tex tells them what he actually said. Bulk accidentally catches a ride on the big wheel and ends up causing Skeleton to be knocked down. Tex angrily orders him to get down. Skeleton discovers his thigh bone is missing.
SuperTed has arrived at the fair. Landing on the big dipper, he notices Tex's lasso and realised the boy was definitely kidnapped. He jumps out of the way just before a car hits him, hanging on to Tex's lasso and swinging from the top of the big dipper.
Tex makes his way through the fairground. Skeleton asks him if he has seen his bone lying around. Tex tells him to stop moaning and continue to follow him, much to the annoyance of Skeleton. Tex agrees with Bulk's request to go on the ghost train, as it will give them chance to hide the boy. Skeleton doesn't want to go on , but quickly changes his mind upon hearing Tex ordering him.
SuperTed is still swinging from the lasso but manages to make his way to the ground. He looks for Tex but can not see him. He notices the thigh bone belonging to Skeleton and guesses he must be hopping around the fun fair.
Skeleton becomes startled by the ghost train. Bulk tells him he frightened him for a second and Skeleton jokingly scares Bulk but Tex orders him to be quiet. They reach a dungeon themed area and Skeleton borrows a bone off another skeleton to replace his lost one.
SuperTed notices the ghost train and guesses that the three crooks are inside. Despite his fear and wishing he had Spotty to help him, SuperTed heads inside. Inside the dungeon, Tex tells Bulk to pull down a dummy and put the boy in it's place. Skeleton is to write a ransom note to the boy's mother or Tex makes sure he will "kick the bucket." Bulk informs Tex they don't have a bucket and as Skeleton asks if he should fetch one, Tex tells them to be quiet, as he has heard a noise.
It is SuperTed, travelling through the ghost train, wishing he was safe in the tree house. SuperTed notices the missing bone from the ghost train skeleton and becomes worried about the boy. Skeleton is writing the ransom note, telling the boy's mother about the things they would like with the ransom money they are asking for - Tex, a ranch, Skeleton, some slippers and Bulk, brain surgery.
Tex tells him to be quiet as he is afraid and can hear a rumbling noise. To the horror of Skeleton, it is SuperTed. He shouts for Bulk to let go of the boy and brings him to the ground with a flying tackle. Bulk is confused, thinking he has been knocked out. SuperTed tells the boy to stay where he is while he looks for Tex. After examining some waxworks, he finally notices Tex, hiding in a coffin. He grabs the cowboy's nose, who wails for the teddy bear to let go. SuperTed giggles and jokes Tex did always have a nose for trouble.
The boy tells SuperTed the ghost train is the best ride of all and even shows him the two Skeletons. SuperTed tells Skeleton to come along, even though he wants to stay with his friend. SuperTed then takes a picture of the three. Later in the space station, SuperTed gives a much better Spotty a little present from the fair, however, he jokes to his friend he won't ever be going on the ghost train again. The two chuckle together at the comical picture of Tex, Bulk and Skeleton as the episode ends.
